It's a Girl!

Mama, Papa and Elena just following court

The official court in Lutugino

After moving out of our apartment early this morning, we were on our way to Lutugino and met Elena at the orphanage.  Due to some last minute re-arranging Lauren needed to move in with the Griggs so we were up late packing last night and got up early to finish packing and then move.  A few minutes later we were on our way to court.  We waited for our case for about 35 minutes and were given specific instructions regarding proper protocol.  After the series of questions by the judge, we were dismissed and the judge and jurors met privately  Then we were called back into the courtroom and were given the official statement that the petition to adopt Elena was officially accepted.  Glory to God!!!  Hallelujah! Elena should formally and officially be our daughter  11 days from now.  The judge extended it by one day since the 10th day was on a Sunday.  Immediately following court we signed papers at the notary and then Jay said goodbye and left for the airport.  Then Jane Griggs and I bought cake and arranged for the girls goodbye party.  The party turned into a time when all the children stood up and gave their farewell wishes, they sang songs and ate cake and special drinks.  It was a memorable time for all!
Here is a snapshot of Jay and Elena just before Jay left for the airport
